Physical Education is a
non-instruction time (NIT) subject taught at Elizabeth Park
Schools.
All students from reception to year 7 including the
Centre for Hearing Impaired and Special Education students
participate in this subject area. The program is
designed to encourage students to gain knowledge and
lifelong skills through active participation. The program
allows all students to take part in various activities
including team building, games, co-ordination skills,
basketball, football, lacrosse, netball, soccer and
skipping.
Throughout the school year sporting identities are
invited to share their knowledge and skills with students, and
to encourage students to continue an active lifestyle. Elizabeth Park
Schools also conduct hold an annual Sports Day which
encourages students to compete in traditional athletics events
including sprints, high jump and long jump.
SAPSASA Sports are an important part of Elizabeth Park
Schools' culture.
Students are able to try out for various events and
then participate in District days with the possibility of
going on to the State day. SAPSASA events
include athletics, winter and summer carnivals, swimming, and
cricket and football carnivals.
Active After School Sports is a popular activity
in which our students have the opportunity to
participate.
This activity is run by specialist coaches and/or
players with support from school staff. Each term two
sporting activities are offered and all students have the
chance to participate in one activity a year. In term one 2008
the activities were football and athletics.
